Lu Ming is a distinguished professor of Antai School of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a Long-River Scholar of the Ministry of Education, an Executive Dean of the China Development Research Institute, a researcher of the China Academy of Urban Governance, and a researcher of the Shanghai Institute of International Finance and Economics. He has worked as a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and as a visiting researcher at Fudan University, Singapore Management University, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and other domestic and foreign universities. He has served as an advisory expert for the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Author of the academic bestseller ”Big Cities”. He serves as Associate Editor of Economics (Quarterly), Editor of Asian Economic Papers (MIT Press), and Editorial Board Member of Journals such as World Economics. His research interests include Chinese economy, urban-rural and regional economic development, and labor economics. Recent research has focused on evaluating urban and regional development policies and providing strategic thinking from spatial political economy for sustainable urban development, promoting domestic market integration and sustained economic growth.
