Tongji Original Design Studio is a pioneering design team that seamlessly integrates research and practice, leveraging the robust academic environment and advanced engineering platform of Tongji University. The studio has undertaken numerous key projects at provincial and municipal levels, as well as significant engineering initiatives. Its work focuses on critical areas such as the ecological and livable transformation of water systems, integrated district renewal, multifunctional infrastructure development, industrial heritage regeneration, and industrial landscape restoration, contributing to the sustainable regeneration of China”s urban built environment. Over the past decade, the team has published nearly 200 academic papers and garnered over 180 prestigious awards for its design projects at international, national, and provincial levels, including 37 international and regional honors. Notable accolades include the ARCASIA Gold Medal, the WAF (World Architecture Festival) Landscape of the Year Award, the IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) Asia-Pacific Award of Excellence, the Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize at the Barcelona International Biennial of Landscape Architecture, the AIA (American Institute of Architects) China Design Excellence Award, and the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) China Award for Urban Renewal Project of the Year. Domestically, the studio has received the Gold Medal of Architectural Creation from the Architectural Society of China, the First Prize of the National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award, the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award from the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, the First Prize of the Ministry of Education”s Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Award, and the First Prize of the Shanghai Architectural Society”s Science and Technology Progress Award. >
